My career in travel started off slightly different to the rest of the team in the office, I followed my passion for skiing becoming a ski instructor living and working in Andorra for three winter seasons. During the summer I worked for Inghams travel as a holiday rep in Austria for the lakes and mountains programme. I started as a grade 1 holiday rep and after 22 back-to-back seasons I progressed to be a resort manager in the busy and famous resort of Kitzbuhel. I equally enjoyed both winter and summer seasons. Austria is a truly beautiful country with so much to offer in the way of activities.

An opportunity arose to take a slightly different career path and I became a cruise director for Riviera Travel working on the river cruise ships, on the Danube, Rhine, and Mosel rivers it was the best office desk in the world! Watching the world go by at very gentle pace whilst I was working. The job was demanding, long hours and varied and I visited some fantastic places and met some wonderful people which was an important part of the job for me knowing that I was a part of making someone’s holiday the best it could be, that concept is with me now when selling holidays.

I have visited Candan, Florida, and most places in Europe my favourite destination is Austria but that may change when I visit Thailand in May.
